May. 6th, 2004 @ 07:30 pm New blog, might be the end here...
So I bought a domain. After I bought an LJ account. Oh well, I got a lot more use out of my $25 for the year than some do. So head over to www.tacojohn.net and see what I'm doing now.

May. 5th, 2004 @ 01:53 am More THW musings
So a large opposition had been rising against a member of The Hoosier Web, namely IrishMafia (he will be refered to as that, since I refuse to use the real names of these "people"). Most of it was concentrated on one thread. This thread is now gone. If the owners/operators of THW think that this is the way to run a message board, they're sadly mistaken. I don't know who got the thread deleted or who decided to protect IrishMafia, but you're going about this the wrong way. When a community rejects a member of the community, it's the responsibility of those with authority to kick the person out. If he is such a valuable commodity that he shall not be critized, then I don't want anything to do with this horrible excuse for a "community."

May. 5th, 2004 @ 01:13 am What an odd coincidence
I said when I re-introduced my other blog that I wouldn't be posting there as often. Well, to get that blog the way I want it, I need to post a lot more than I would post here.

Anyway, today I woke up at 9:30 (last day this week I need to set an alarm) and took my P318 final. Good stuff. It went quite well. I really dislike the prof, so (even though he doesn't think this) I get the satisfaction of messing up his plans of failing me. After that I think, for the first time, I wandered off campus in the middle of the day. Headed over to Jiffy Treat on Kirkwood for frozen custard. I blame not leaving campus on the way Bloomington/IU is laid out. Very low mixing between campus and town. Then there was a lot of SOCOM played, with more to be played over the next two days. Anyway, further plug for my other blog. Go take a look.

May. 3rd, 2004 @ 01:40 am So now I'm living in the closet
Spent part of the day moving all my stuff into one of the two rooms in the suite I had this year. Roommate and I decided to split it up now before we got busy during finals week. I probably could have survived this, but it would have taken a lot more organization. It probably would have taken a loft as well. But I can handle this.

The Hoosier Web is going through a meltdown. Some would call it a revolution, but there won't be a revolution. That shithole is going out with a whimper, not a bang. Too bad I can't seem to leave the site alone. I won't miss it, but I can't stop going there to watch what's going on.

May. 1st, 2004 @ 01:39 am Money for e-mail
So yeah, someone sent me $10.00 for a Gmail invitation. What a guy.

Today I woke up, a little hungover, at 10:30. After cranberry/apple/raspberry juice and a cup of coffee, I was good to go. At 1:00 I had Intramural Official Elections were I ran uncontested and was swept to victory for the presidency. Big plans for the organization, we're going to turn this thing around.

After that I went to The Bill for the 2003 Intramural Soccer Championships. After HO'ing the first 3 games, and dealing with a bleeding scalp, I was a linesman for the Men's Division I game. Hard-fought battle as Sigma Chi beat World All-Stars 3-0 for the title. Highlight of the game was watching one of the World All-stars try to talk shit to the frat boys. I don't have a lot of love for frat guys but I know one thing: if all of them are in one place, don't call them "Trailer Trash".

Current Music: Pharell (feat. Jay-Z) - Frontin'
I've been compulsively checking my gmail accounts to see if anyone e-mailed me. No dice yet. I might just start e-mailing people I don't normally e-mail so I can get a threaded discussion going.

As for the rest of the day, it wasn't that bad. Besides waking up at 9:00 (I know, I know, I'm a spoiled college kid) for a group meeting at 9:30. I really didn't think the idea the group had for the presentation was great, but I went along with it because I was so tired and I wanted to get my paper and have my coffee.

Intramural soccer went well until I decided to officiate. Note to the losing team if you read this: If you get a penatly kick, and miss it, you have ZERO right to claim I "haven't called anything all game." I was furious with the other team to boot for their time-wasting and trash-talking, but I guess I'm just a throwback or something. At least I can take solace in the fact I will be officiating the Men's I championship game.

Current Music: Computer fans
I woke up at 9:30. Got up, tried once again in vain to view my new Gmail account with Opera. Checked it with Mozilla instead. Went to marketing class afterwards. Then following my next class, I ran to Ballentine Hall to see if I could visit Writing Tutorial Services, which I thought I had to do for a paper I thought I had to turn in today. Well, I couldn't visit WTS because they were full. Which was good because the paper isn't due until Wednesday. Son of a...

During Interpersonal Communications, Chaz, some schmuck in the class, decided that we need to be graced with his guitar playing one last time. Super. This kid has not given a presentation without his guitar all semester. This time, he didn't even write a song. He just played "Eye of the Tiger" while his group was introducing themselves. I have a news flash for you, Chaz. This is a college classroom. Not a stage. Presentations have a creative element because we don't want to here the same dribble over and over again. So if you play your guitar over and over again, it becomes the same old dribble. It's supposed to be creative. So get over yourself and think of something else to do.

Refing soccer was decent too. 2 cards, and I called a PK which ended up deciding the game. Clear foul though, the attackers foot hit the line for the penalty box then he was bowled over. After that game, I was so pumped I lined another game when I wasn't really needed.

And since that paper isn't due until Wednesday, I'm not going to work on it tonight.
